The Power Struggle Paradigm

We tend to live as if we can control the things, the people, the circumstances in our lives and we spend so much of our energy trying and efforting to make it work in our favor.

Gosh, if this person would only be like this or if this thing would just go this way or if this circumstance would workout in my favor then, I'll be happy or whatever the outcome you think it will give you.

This I like to say is a power struggle because in truth, do we really have power over all of this? Or do we try to have power, which doesn't at all feel like power more like force.

I have come to realize through my own power struggles that I can try and try to control the things around me, but in actuality what I truly have power over is myself.

What I think. What I feel. What meaning I give to something.

My lesson form A Course in Miracles for today says: It seems as if the world determines what you perceive, but it's your thoughts that determine the world you see.

The power struggle is rooted in fear. We think that if I control something by exerting my power upon it then, that thing changes in my favor. But does it stay that way? No, because everything out there is always constantly changing.

Real change is about changing your mind.

The only place power needs to be and should be used is in changing how we perceive and see the things, people and circumstances, is in changing our mind.

In the video I below I share what we can truly do to change the things out there, which don't require exerting power upon them.

Real change happens within not out there.
